Sid Samberg

Born in 1989 in Chicago, Sid Samberg began performing his own music at an early age across Europe and North America.  They have been described as dreamlike sagas of great complexity, challenging to both performer and listener. Samberg has participated in the soundSCAPE festival in Italy, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland, The New England Conservatory Summer Institute for Contemporary Performance Practice in Boston, and Kathleen Supove’s Music with a View in New York. He has also lectured on the history of music, the music of the holocaust, politically activist composers, relationships between music and the environment, and has published an article on the composer Frederic Rzewski in Contemporary Music Review.  He has also given masterclasses in composition at Oakton Community College. He is currently studying composition at California Institute of the Arts with Michael Pisaro and will be graduating in 2019.
